:Job Overview:The Senior Project Accountant uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the project accounting discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the project accounting discipline. The Senior Project Accountant solves complex problems and uses discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Project Accountant impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the project accounting team and other related teams and ensures they work within the appropriate guidelines and policies.Responsibilities:Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work with project teams to understand billing requirements in the contract
Prepare and review customer invoices for third-party customers
Prepare information needed to support intercompany project billing
Confirm intercompany balances
Prepare unbilled cost accruals
Generate and review Executive Summary Reports for intercompany projects and verify alignment between intercompany project information
Run monthly system reports (audit trail reports) and review for issues related to business unit types
Run Accounts Receivable Contract Status Report, Accounts Receivable Aging Report, and Unapplied Cash Report and adjust as necessary to ensure all activity is correctly recorded
Coordinate with project manager and project controls for completion of forecasts and preparation of project finance reports for local & corporate management
Work with project manager, project procurement, and subcontracts coordinator to prepare, analyze and maintain healthy project cash-flows.
Maintain internal financial control over the project. Ensuring that invoices are rendered to clients on time according to contract terms and that project costs are correctly processed and recorded. Responsible for client audit interface.
Review and analysis of costs charged to the project.
Provide inputs to any ad-hoc reporting as required by local and corporate management
Qualifications:Essential Qualifications and Education:
5-7 years of experience, ideally in oil and gas, EPCI, or construction industry
Bachelor\'s degree in Finance and Accounting required and relevant certification, such as Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CPA, etc.)
Experience with billing in the Energy & Construction industry
