Lead and manage flight test programs for UAVs, from planning and execution to data analysis and reporting.
Design and develop flight test plans, including test objectives, procedures and safety protocols.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, software developers and technicians to ensure successful test execution.
Conduct pre-flight inspections, system checks and troubleshooting to ensure UAV readiness for testing.
Perform flight tests in various environments and conditions to validate performance, stability, and safety of UAV systems.
Analyze flight test data, identify trends, anomalies and areas for improvement and provide recommendations for design enhancements.
Document test results, findings, and recommendations in detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and standards.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians involved in flight testing activities.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor\'s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. Master\'s degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in flight testing, preferably with UAVs or manned aircraft.
Proven track record of designing and executing successful flight test programs.
In-depth knowledge of aerodynamics, flight dynamics and control systems.
Familiarity with UAV systems, including autopilots, sensors, communication systems and payloads.
Experience with flight test instrumentation, data acquisition systems and analysis tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
