Job Overview: Our client is seeking a Senior Podiatrist to join their team. Responsible for providing safe, effective, evidence-based and comprehensive podiatry services. The employee will be responsible for assisting in the surgeries, prescribing orthotics and applying therapeutic treatments.
Job Summary: Primary Duties:
Maintains sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties
Reports shortage of materials to supervisor at the earliest convenience, ordering and approving replenishments when necessary
Assesses and orders appropriate materials/equipment following discussion with senior staff
Assists in the budget responsibilities depending on delegation of responsibilities in section/department
Manages and oversees all administrative work related to the daily operation of the podiatry department
Participates in developing future strategies for the benefit of Hospital patients
Develops staff within the department which includes the podiatrist, senor assistant, assistant technicians and administrative staff
Assists in minor surgery, Diabetic wound management and assessment
Participates in the Bio mechanical assessments and production of orthotic devices and patient treatments which includes Children\xe2\x80\x99s Foot Health
Oversees medication for topical use as per the podiatry pharmaceutical list agreed by the podiatry task force
Performs Minor Surgery procedures as requested.
Manages and documents all patient contacts as required by the Medical Record Documentation policy, using the computer as appropriate.
Ensuring compliance with all safety and quality control programs and procedures as applicable

Educational/Professional Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or 3 year diploma in Podiatry from an accredited program or equivalent
