Summary: As the SeniorPackaging Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in handling and implementing strategic initiatives for developing packaging within our product portfolio. You'll report to TBC, leading packaging projects. Your leadership will draw upon your technical proficiency in packaging engineering, conducting functional and dimension analyses, understanding manufacturing processes, possessing material knowledge, and related expertise. Essentially, you'll be at the forefront of innovating, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, aesthetically pleasing, and functional packaging. You'll also streamline processes, implement excellence, best practices, and ensure top-notch quality in our packaging development efforts.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Strategic Leadership:

• Collaborate with the R&D team to craft impactful and technically aligned packaging development strategies.
• Apply extensive knowledge of industrial processes within the cosmetics manufacturing sector.

2. Team Leadership and Adaptability:

• Lead by example, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and development offering guidance, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Serve as a project lead on complex project and various initiatives to ensure the completion of packaging development objectives.

3. Project Management Skills and Packaging Innovation:

• Drive the development of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions that align with Huda Beauty's brand values and aesthetic.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of packaging solutions.

4. Technical Expertise and Problem-Solving Skills:

• Utilize your deep technical expertise in packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and 3D CAD design to drive excellence in product packaging.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate the latest advancements into packaging designs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex issues related to packaging design, materials, and manufacturing.
• Lead initiatives for technical innovation in packaging development, exploring new technologies and sustainable practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in technical packaging development processes.

5. Regulatory Compliance:

• In-depth knowledge of packaging regulations and standards in the cosmetics industry.
• Experience working with regulatory team to ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of technical industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Ensure adherence to technical and environmental standards and ethical sourcing practices.

6. Quality Assurance, Quality Control:

• Work closely with the QA/QC manager to establish and implement robust quality assurance processes for packaging materials, design, compatibility with formula and test reports.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.

7. Cost Management:

• Work closely with the Purchasing team to manage packaging development budgets effectively.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or brand image.

8. Global Perspective and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Experience developing packaging solutions for a global market, understanding regional preferences, regulations, and logistical considerations.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, NPD, quality assurance, and supply chain, to achieve common goals.
• Contribute packaging expertise to optimize component and product portfolio and enhance supply chain efficiency.
• Align packaging strategies with product development and marketing objectives for seamless integration.
• Establish collaboration channels with cross-functional teams.
• Seamlessly integrate technical aspect within our product development and operational requirements.

9. Communication Skills and Strategic Thinking:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Actively communicate insights and recommendations derived from purchasing data analysis to management for informed decision-making.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to align packaging development goals with overall business objectives and brand strategy.

10. Metrics and Analysis for Continuous Improvement:

• Track and report key technical metrics, aiming to reduce expenses and quality issue postproduction, and enhance effectiveness.
• Conduct technical value and scenario analysis, benchmarking, and determine tooling specification, production capacity, and timing of deliveries in collaboration with Purchasing and the S&OP team.





Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience of +5 years in packaging development within the cosmetics or beauty industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.
• Proficiency in CAD design and rendering (Solidworks, KeyShot) is highly advantageous.
• Competence in 3D printing and prototyping.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
