• Principal responsibility will be to ensure monitoring overdue accounts and to have a proper follow up system in place to ensure timely recovery. The job holder will also be responsible to follow up with the clients, lawyers, Ministry of Court, etc. on classified cases for recovery of debts.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Following up with clients for adjustment of overdues before end of months.
• Follow up classified / restructured cases for recovery.
• Follow up with lawyers / legal consultants / Ministry of court, etc. on litigation cases.
• Preparation and submission of periodic reviews of classified accounts.
• Submission of recovery results on monthly basis.
• Monitoring all classified / overdue accounts.
• Handling correspondence with head office on classified / overdue accounts.
• Reporting the progress on litigation cases / other restricted / classified accounts to management / head office.
• Maintaining records of classified / litigation cases.
• Maintaining records of fees / charges paid to ministries / legal consultant / lawyers in case of classified / litigation accounts.

Job Context

• To have a follow-up system in place for all overdue accounts / OLEM accounts for close monitoring purposes.
• Having a follow up system in place for UAE classified accounts for cases where the customers are based in Oman.
• To recommend appropriate steps for recovery of delinquent accounts and ensure action / follow-up including strengthening of security and legal action where necessary.
• Meet with the clients and negotiate for recovery / settlement / rescheduling for approval of classified delinquent accounts.
• Preparation of write-off / legal action / settlement proposals for obtaining approval from head office.
• Ascertain assets of the default customers.
• Ascertain income of classified accounts.
• Liase with Head Office legal department and bank\'s lawyers to discuss cases under litigation.
• To arrange sale of mortgaged / acquired properties of delinquent borrowers by liaising with real estate agents or other means wherever necessary.
• Submit progress / follow-up reports and periodic reviews and other MIS to the management / head office in respect of recoveries and status of the delinquent accounts including adequacy of loan loss provisions.
• To prepare progress reports and periodic reviews MIS and other regulatory reports in respect of recoveries and status of the delinquent accounts for management / head office submission.

• Minimum a Degree holder in Business with Law background (preferably) with sufficient experience in credit / remedial department
• Ability to evaluate reports on the effectiveness of the collection and recovery unit
• Strong knowledge in analysing different type of delinquency reports (historical flow rate, coincidental report, lagged report, net flow analysis, vintage report)
• Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and strong desire to grow professionally and meet the objectives of the organization
• Familiarize with lending procedures, lending instruments & banking regulations
