A Leading Telecom/Security solutions company in Abu Dhabi is looking for Senior IT/Network Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our comprehensive network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, Video Management Systems (VMS), CCTV, and Access Control Systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of advanced networking concepts, security protocols, and integrated security solutions. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our network and security systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Architecture and Design:

• Leadership in Design: Lead the design and architecture of complex network infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability for firewalls, switches, VMS, CCTV, and access control systems.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term network strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend new networking and security technologies to enhance system capabilities and performance.

Implementation and Deployment:

• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and successful deployment of network and security system projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Configuration and Integration: Configure and integrate advanced network devices, including firewalls, switches, IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and access control hardware/software.
• Automation and Optimization: Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline network operations and improve efficiency.

Network Security:

• Advanced Security Management: Design, deploy, and manage robust firewall configurations, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and other security measures to protect network infrastructure.
• Security Policies: Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Incident Response: Lead the response to security incidents, conducting thorough investigations, mitigating threats, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

System Integration and Maintenance:

• Comprehensive Integration: Ensure seamless integration of VMS, CCTV, and access control systems with existing IT infrastructure and other security solutions.
• Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patch management for network devices and security systems to ensure continuous, reliable operation.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize network performance, addressing bottlenecks and enhancing system efficiency.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network and security issues affecting VMS, CCTV, and access control systems, minimizing downtime and operational disruptions.
• Technical Support: Provide high-level technical support and guidance to IT teams, security personnel, and other stakeholders, fostering a collaborative problem-solving environment.
• Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions to improve system stability and performance.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Comprehensive Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network architectures, configurations, security protocols, and system integrations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all network and security systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, preparing for audits as necessary.
• Reporting: Generate and present detailed reports on network performance, security incidents, project progress, and system improvements to senior management.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Mentorship: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers and IT staff, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with IT, security, facilities, and external vendors to ensure the successful implementation and operation of network and security systems.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs, provide updates, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on firewalls, switches, VMS, CCTV, and access control systems.
• Proven experience in designing and managing complex network infrastructures and integrated security solutions.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution, and successful delivery of network and security projects.

Skills:

• Networking: In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs).
• Security: Expertise in firewall configuration and management, IDS/IPS, network security best practices, and compliance standards.
• Security Systems: Extensive experience with VMS, CCTV, and access control technologies, including hardware and software components.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools, automation scripts, and network management software.
• Problem-Solving: Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and security issues.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience mentoring and guiding junior staff.
• Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Certifications:

• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PMP, CISSP, or certifications specific to security systems (e.g., Genetec, Milestone, Axis) are highly preferred.
• Vendor-specific certifications related to firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA) and access control systems are advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
