OverviewThe Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the network is reliable, secure, and capable of supporting the organizations operations and growth.Core42 is the UAEs national-scale enabler for cloud and generative AI, combining G42 Groups expertise across multiple technology disciplines into a single platform for public sector and large enterprise transformations. Building on our capabilities as sovereign cloud and HPC specialist, we bring generative AI, cybersecurity, professional and managed services expertise to enable national-scale program deployments across industries.Responsibilities

• Engineering Core42 DC network (DCN) including optimizing traffic patterns, deploying resiliency and highly available solution, optimizing deployment process, efficient utilization of hardware resources, cabling designs
• Planning of network and network security optimization on monthly basis
• Final tier of resolution for L2 support, communication with vendors technical support.
• Providing L3 support through problem analysis as per defined SLA
• Approval and creation of BOQ for network devices for the existing DC Network and cabling
• Approval of configuration baseline templates for deployments as well as security hardening guides as per the best practice
• Revision of Cloud expansions HLD/LLD in Core42 environment including network hardware and design
• Design of WAN/LAN scalable network solutions including switches, routers, firewalls and network encryptors
• Communication with WAN service providers to provide the optimal WAN architecture for Cloud or Client needs
• Preparation and review of User Acceptance Test documents, assistance with complex tests (i. e. high availability tests between Cloud AZs)
• Planning of complex change requests, maintenance windows and deployments which includes vital network traffic flows (i.e. WAN Block migration, ISP migrationxe2x80xa6)
• Network automation through scripting languages.
• Verification of overlay network services and components using software defined network tools
• Overlay traffic flow analysis and documentation in Core42 environment.
• Attending a meeting with internal and external stakeholders to present Core42 solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field in technology.
• 7+ years of experience and deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing private cloud stacks with a focus on compute and virtualization technologies.
• Expert level knowledge in core network technologies: routing and switching, QoS, overlay technologies (VXLAN, GRE)
• Expertise in planning, designing, implementation & troubleshooting of routing protocols like OSPF & MP-BGP
• Understanding of encryption protocols and suites [IPSEC, SSL VPN, MACSEC]
• Knowledge about HPC networking with focus on Ethernet and understanding of InfiniBand principles.
• Experience in design and deployment of load balancer/WAF
• Understanding of IP multicast concepts [PIM, IGMP]
• Deep understanding of software defined network including products such as OVS.
• Understanding of standards such as NIST and ISO and how those are applicable in networking environment.
• Experience in Linux, virtualization, and cloud computing are a plus.
• Knowledge and experience working with GPU-hardware and AI hardware accelerators is a plus.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Expert level certificate like in area of DCN is a plus.
• GCC Driving license is highly desirable.
