Responsibilities & Duties \xc2\xb7 Undertake Mechanical design and consultancy work including systems design, production, specifications and schedules; provide reports and advice to Clients. Liaise with other design team members internal and external, represent the business at meetings. \xc2\xb7 Ensure application and maintenance of all Quality System procedures. \xc2\xb7 Manage projects including organization of junior staff and project delivery to time and cost requirements. \xc2\xb7 Achieve a detailed understanding of the Contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, MEP systems interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule. \xc2\xb7 Assesses project requirements, breaks projects into tasks, and works with Project Managers to determine scope of work while overseeing budget and assigned staffing. \xc2\xb7 Writes scopes of work for mechanical designs (HVAC) based on preliminary review and client requirements. Coordinates the writing of Plumbing, Fire \xc2\xb7 Protection and Electrical scopes of work for based on preliminary review and client requirements. \xc2\xb7 Technically competent engineer with excellent communication and time management skills. Good team ethic approach and the ability to financially control and project manage. \xc2\xb7 Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new HVAC systems and analyzes the operation of existing systems. Coordinates the preparation of Plumbing, Fire Protection and Electrical studies and schematic design for new systems and the analysis of the operation of existing systems. \xc2\xb7 Works with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required. \xc2\xb7 Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between MEP Subcontractors during construction. \xc2\xb7 Validate design issues related to MEP and suggest alternative solutions. \xc2\xb7 Assist in the receipt and review of MEP submittals. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate / liaise with the authorities (Dewa-water & drainage, Etisalat and EHS) for expediting NOC / building completion inspection. \xc2\xb7 Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings. Assist the MEP department head in the scope review, budgeting and justification of MEP change work order. \xc2\xb7 Assist in the installation of MEP work as the need arises \xc2\xb7 Monitor and control the activities of MEP Subcontractor. \xc2\xb7 Coordination and administration of MEP related materials, systems and shop drawings submittals. \xc2\xb7 Liaison with Consultant MEP supervisory Engineers, Inspectors and relevant staff. \xc2\xb7 Ensure that MEP Subcontractors provides and adheres to relevant Quality documentation/records. \xc2\xb7 Ensure that MEP Subcontractors adheres to Project safety regulations. \xc2\xb7 Assist in the testing and commissioning of MEP equipment \xc2\xb7 Reports all project MEP issues to MEP department head Working Experience & Skills & Qualifications \xc2\xb7 BEng (Hons) degree in Building Services Engineering/Mechanical Engineer \xc2\xb7 high level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems \xc2\xb7 good oral communication skills and confidence in dealing with a range of people, including clients, contractors, designers, directors and plant operators \xc2\xb7 precise and concise written communication skills \xc2\xb7 the ability to work well within a team \xc2\xb7 the ability to work under pressure \xc2\xb7 organizational skills, such as time and resource planning. \xc2\xb7 Work experience in related field of 5-10 years Job Type: Full-time Application Question(s):
