Overview of the roleThe role requires Strategic decision making, deep understanding of the issues, managing risk and providing solutions and support. As a Senior Manager-Trade Finance, the role requires a very sound operational skill, solution providing and problem-solving abilities to execute the transactions. The person must work as a bridge between the businesses and the Backoffice for day-to-day operations in getting things done and providing best support to the Businesses. The Role also involves active participation in Treasury projects, system improvement, new system implementation etc.What you will do
  • This role will require you to provide solutions and support in managing complex trade finance related transactions in a professional, practical and cost-effective manner across all business units of the Group.
  • Review the existing internal processes and provide solutions to improve the overall quality of service to the business units.
  • Review the existing System functionalities and provide suggestions to improve it or alternatively seek other trade finance platforms available in the market to suit the needs of the Trade finance.
  • Deliver new system improvements for Trade Finance - in the areas of system configuration, Development, Working with Implementation Partners, UAT, User training, Rollout processes, and post-implementation support to users.
  • Provide support in various ongoing Treasury projects and provide effective contribution.
  • Provide your support to the Business units and the Backoffice for day-to-day operations in trade for successful and timely execution of LCs, SBLCs, Guarantees, etc.
  • Coordinate with the external business partners i.e., Banks in Trade finance deal executions
  • Review the existing banks tariff and facilities and provide your inputs to Corporate Finance team.
  • You will support and co-ordinate with other teams of GTC - Cash Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Risk, Governance and Control in their functions whenever required.
  • You will support in producing Strategic and Operational Reports, and Trackers to monitor results and help in areas requiring improvements.
  • You will be responsible in establishing and ensuring that all housekeeping activities are kept in-tact and in line with documented Policies, Procedures and DOA Matrix.
  • Coordinate and Support the Internal Audit teams in their review process and providing suitable response on the observations made by them.
  • You will support in follow up with Business to ensure timely closure of trade instruments (LCs, BGs, SBLCs etc.) once the purposes for which such instruments were issued, are fulfilled, to reduce risk and exposure.
  • Responsible for effectively processing/checking/verifying and authorizing transactions as per approval matrix, ensuring processing is carried out in a controlled manner.
  • Effectively monitoring compliance to regulatory guidelines and local/international sanctions in Trade Finance Processes and improving the controls to identify/mitigate the risk.
  • Train and share your knowledge with UAE Nationals on Trade Finance Products
  • Provide your support to your line manager in achieving higher performance results for overall success of the team.
  • The position covers supporting the business units operating in various geographies - UAE, GCC, SEA and Africa.
