The Group creates, implements and monitors policies and procedures designed to prevent or detect financial crime and any compliance breaches of the Bank, its employees and clients. It also monitors and measures the impact of conduct risk and compliance on the Banks risk appetite and profile.In this role, your key responsibilities include:
To develop effective working relationships with regulators (Central Bank/Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA)) and law enforcement to ensure that responses issued on behalf of the Bank are accurate and provided within the agreed turnaround times (TATs)
To analyse notices received, identify business units impacted and formulate communication with senior management to ensure all regulatory-related issues are communicated and resolved within agreed TATs * Ensure that all responses to Police and Central Bank prepared by maker to ensure correct understanding and accurate information is provided
Ensure effective follow up with business units takes place where required to ensure cases are attended to within the agreed TAT
Manage queries and escalations, supporting the team to resolve issues by providing guidance on their proposed solutions on complicated cases to ensure cases are handled correctly
Review and submit regular non-financial Central Bank reports and all other correspondence, analyse notices received, identify units impacted, manage communication with senior management and drive the internal liaison for any action to ensure regulatory requirements are met
Contribute to the regular assessment/review of Collaterised Borrowing and Lending Obligation (CBLO) policies, procedures and systems, identify gaps, suggest remedial action/propose enhancements and lead the implementation of any changes to ensure accurate/up-to-date CBLO policies, procedures and systems are in place
Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders
SkillsThe ideal candidate should have the following experience:
At least 8 years of experience in Banking in Compliance
Bachelors Degree in relevant specialisation
Understanding of local/International and Central Bank rules and regulatory requirements
Understanding of Banking systems, reports and workflows
Ability to develop effective working relationships with external regulators
Proven experience on providing regulator advisory across various products and services.
Candidates should currently hold a managerial role, and be capable of navigating complex regulatory environments.
