About the role



The Senior Manager, Procurement Excellence is responsible for leading and enhancing the overall performance of the procurement function within GMG. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement, managing supplier performance, overseeing contract management, management of procurement tools and technology and ensuring compliance. The role will support training delivery across the procurement team, stay ahead of new technology trends, and manage procurement reporting and analytics. Additionally, this role is pivotal in helping GMG develop best-in-class procurement capabilities and implementing functional improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function and the service provided to stakeholders.

Role responsibilities

• Lead the Procurement Excellence function, driving continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
• Profound experience in a procurement leadership role with focus on excellence.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance supplier performance and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Oversee contract management processes, ensuring compliance and optimal terms and conditions.
• Develop annual sourcing plan and manage savings tracker.
• Manage procurement reporting, analytics, and compliance, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Stay abreast of new technology trends and advancements in procurement to drive innovation and efficiency.
• Support the delivery of training programs across the procurement team to enhance skills and capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and deliver functional improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function.
• Contribute to the development of best-in-class procurement capabilities within GMG.
• Policy review and development.

People management


Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Manage team performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.

Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the procurement team and across the organisation


Skills and experience you'll need

+ A related bachelor's degree.
+ Extensive experience in a procurement excellence role.
+ Proven leadership and team management skills.
+ Proficiency in ERP and eProcurement software like Oracle, SAP, Coupa, or Ariba.
+ Experience in strategic sourcing and policy development.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Strategic thinker with the ability to influence and drive change.
+ Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
+ A successful track record in leading procurement excellence initiatives and driving continuous improvement.
+ Experience in managing supplier performance and contract management.
+ Strong background in procurement reporting, analytics, and compliance.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
+ Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
+ MCIPS professional certification is highly desirable.
