Join us today and experience Life at Visa.What a Senior Manager in Legal does at Visa:The position is for a seasoned business, commercial attorney to join Visa's growing legal team in CEMEA region to support Visa's businesses in CEMEA region, including support with contract drafting and negotiations of various commercials deals and agreements with Visa clients and partners, process simplification and enhancements and other initiatives related with the CEMEA Legal Deals team.The position will report to Visa attorney who acts as a Head of the CEMEA Legal Deals team in CEMEA region. The position will provide legal advice within Visas CEMEA region supporting other members of legal team in the region, to support the organization to achieve its business objectives and to operate within applicable legal and regulatory parameters. The applicant should ideally have experience in commercial business law, banking and finance law and corporate law and be able to draft contracts robustly and to a high standard. The applicant must have solid technical legal skills with good commercial, legal risk judgment, and be able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced and challenging, but rewarding, environment.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY RESULTS AREA)Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial agreements and other legally binding documents. This also includes development of templates (standard documents) or adapting Visa U.S. and CEMEA Hub documents to local requirements. This also includes the work on the process simplification and enhancements related with commercial agreementsProvide counseling and advice to Business teams regarding deal structures, contracts interpretations and common approachesWhere required, coordinate and supervise outside counsels for timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and excellence of service and work productMonitor regulatory developments and advise teams in GCC sub-region and CEMEA HQ about applicable legal and regulatory requirements in the context of Visa dealsSome travel may be requiredRole to be located in Visas office in Dubai, UAE.STRATEGIC NATURE, MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY & SCOPEAs part of the legal team actively participate in developing strategies, objectives, policies and procedures to meet business objectives. Take a strong role and assist in developing initiatives to improve legal service. Proactively work with regional and functional colleagues on deployment of projects and developments.This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.Qualifications
Law degree from a UK university and qualification which allows for in house practice in Dubai
Minimum 8 years PQE with an international law firm or a multinational organization
Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization to implement projects
Strong communication skills
Excellent written and verbal English
Transactional background with solid experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (in particular English law governed) with precision and attention to detail
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Experience in banking and finance, FinTech, information technology and payment industry advantageous (but not essential)
Generalist, commercial lawyer
Have a global mindset and the ability to work well in a dynamic and deadline-oriented environment
Must be able to work independently and interface with different level stakeholders with little or no supervision, but also be a good team player
Excellent legal analytical skills with the ability to integrate legal advice and business knowledge, while providing balanced advice regarding risks and benefits
