An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced lifting engineer with superior analytical and leadership skills to join our Logistics Department team in Abu Dhabi office. The senior lifting engineer plays a lead role in the project engineering for operations executed by Jan De Nul.


We are looking for a determined, stress-resistant self-starter who can quickly adapt and do everything to get the job done.


• •In the role of Senior Project Engineer you will lead the lifting team consisting out of minimum 2 lifting engineers and 10-15 appointed persons. •
• •Analyze and prepare lift plans for operations related to logistics, dredging, rock works and civil works. •
• •Liaise with the project team including other departments (i.e. Operations, Crew Department, Technical Department, etc), vessel & equipment crew, clients, subcontractors, third parties and certification authorities. •
• •Develop guidelines and calculation methods to improve the quality and efficiency within the department. •
• •Review and approve engineering project deliverables. •
• •Train and coach (junior) lifting engineers and appointed persons. •
• •Schedule and follow-up of third-party inspections related to lifting operations. •
• •Liaises with the client (ADNOC Logistics & Services) and end-client (ADNOC- Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation) to obtain the necessary approvals required in obtaining the lift plan and vessel approvals to perform lifting operations. •
• •Liaises with third parties for all vessel and equipment certification and ensures that documents and certification remain valid. •
• •Ensures timely application and renewal of lifting equipment certification by closely coordinating with all the relevant stakeholders to support and maintain operational requirements. •
• •Obtain certification and lift plan approvals to support other departments. •


Assist with other items if required such as:


• + •On and offshore visits •
+ •Involvement with risk assessments •
+ •Prepare, review and approve lift plans •
+ •Coordinate vessel, equipment and personnel lifting certification •
+ •Liase with lifting equipment manufacturers for any required technical support •
+ •Awareness of and compliance with ADNOC Lifting Integrity Management System •
+ •Sourcing and follow-up of lifting engineers/appointed persons •
+ •Maintain records and certification status of all lifting equipment •



Profile

• Bsc or Msc degree in Mechanical, Civil or Maritime Engineering
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of work experience
• Proven experience in leading small engineering teams
• Creativity and strong analytical skills to solve complex technical issues with innovative solutions
• Have relevant oil and gas offshore and onshore lifting related experience of not less than 7 years
• Able to work well in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a pragmatic approach
• Strong engineering judgement skills based on practical offshore experience
• Team player who also likes to coach junior engineers
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel and work both onshore and offshore
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Basic knowledge of Auto-Cad
• Preferred to have experience working for ADNOC
