  • Legal Expertise in Defense and Contract Law: In-depth knowledge of legal principles related to defense contracts and/or sophisticated technology contracts, government procurement, and international trade laws. Familiarity with offset agreements is crucial.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate terms and conditions with defense contractors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and beneficial terms.
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze contract requirements, legal risks, and the implications of new technology developments within the context of offset agreements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey legal advice and information across various stakeholders including government officials, contractors, and legal teams.
  • Problem-solving skills: Proficient in identifying issues in contract fulfillment and proposing effective legal solutions or alternatives.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring timely reviews, renewals, and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Technology Acumen: Understanding of technological aspects relevant to defense contracts and the capability to grasp the implications of new technologies within legal frameworks.

  • Provide legal guidance and support for the fulfillment of contractual obligations with defense contractors, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements related to technology development and transfer, in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and manage contractual obligations, deliverables, and timelines to ensure that all parties meet their commitments.
  • Advise on legal risks and business terms of various deals and transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate and streamline the offset agreement processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in laws that affect the defense sector and offset agreements.
  • Prepare and manage documentation and reports on contract status, compliance, and other legal matters about the offset program.
