Imperium Commodity Search is retained by an international commodity hedging business, seeking a candidate with extensive knowledge around risk and hedging in the agricultural space.This is not a broker position; we are seeking a storyteller. Someone who can connect the dots and contextualise risk management principles and OTC platforms for a clientelle who are experts in the agricultural trading space, but not necessarily futures/risk opportunity. A genuine passion for the markets, therefore, must be the overarching attribute of the individual coming into this role. You will be representing our clientxe2x80x99s service offering to a variety of traders, corporates, shippers and processors/producers across the EMEA region, in a broad mix of asset classes that span the soft and agricultural markets. There are a multitude of client types, all with their own nuance, understanding and activity levels in the hedging/paper sphere, thus you will be responsible for weaving a bespoke narrative around the companyxe2x80x99s service offering in grains and agricultural OTC hedging and risk products that are unique to the client.You will likely come from a commodity trading or hedging position yourself, and have a strong interest in discussing the markets with new people and new firms, with the commercial accumen and business development ability to drive a client base forwards as part of a small team in Dubai. You will be prospecting new clients, and arranging meetings/driving sales pipelines day to day; but no two conversations should be alike. Alongside the commercial focus, you will be managing analysis and data to support BD/prospecting conversations and the broader team, whilst formulating bespoke agri OTC hedging strategies and market commentary for those prospects and clients. Identifying and prospecting customers in the agricultural and grain trading, processing, production and shipping space for hedging and risk management services, with a focus on the Middle Eastern region
Managing and executing market analysis strategy, conducting supply and demand analysis, flows and technical analysis on pricing and economic indicators
Producing documents/reports to aid in business development and storytelling with prospects and existing clients
Engaging with prospects in a xe2x80x98boots on the groundxe2x80x99 manner, to guide them through their hedging and risk management options, matching their requirements to the capability of the firms OTC hedging and risk business
Marketing OTC (over the counter) hedging and risk strategies, offering bespoke plans and products to suit customers need
Keeping up to date on market movements, geopolitics and forces impacting the international grain and agri trading environment
Attending conferences and seminars, where appropriate, to increase publicity and network around the company and her service offering
We would love to speak to you if you have:
3-5+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience in the agricultural trading or brokerage space, ideally handling derivatives, risk management or hedging using derivatives, OTC contracts or structured products
An excellent understanding of the international/Middle Eastern grain and agri markets
Superb communication skills, with fluency in English
Good computer program knowledge in producing reports, brochures, market data in Excel/PowerPoint etc.
A driven, commercial accumen
The ability to travel and meet with clients and prospects around the Middle East region (c. 50% travel requirement)
A related degree in any agribusiness, economics, business, mangement etc.
The ablility to live and work in Dubai, UAE
