Your New Role Working as a Governance Risk and Compliance Advisor, the responsibilities of the role will grow and adapt to changing needs and demands, however below are the core duties of the role, which is not exhaustive;
Provision of compliance consulting services being the outsourced Compliance Officer, MLRO
Create a Compliance culture
Provide advice and guidance to the client on Compliance related issues
Understand and work by the Companys core values
Assist the Business Development team in answering questions they have received regarding prospective Client Proposals. Assist / advise these prospective Clients on their set up within the ADGM
Analyse any new compliance regulations in relation to the ADGM financial industry and ensure the team understand them and communicate them to Clients
MLRO / Compliance Officer:
Oversee the establishment of business in the from a Regulatory Compliance perspective
Create a Compliance culture in our Clients companies
Provide advice and guidance to the client on Compliance related issues
Implement relevant local Compliance policies and procedures to mitigate the risk of regulatory rule breaches
Monitoring and surveillance through a risk based monitoring program
Provision of training to relevant client employees
Foster good relationships with the all relevant regulators
Provide independently of local senior management, a reporting mechanism for all Client employees
Assist Clients with obtaining the necessary Regulatory Financial Services permissions
Act as a project management of the licence application process and advisory services to throughout the process including assistance with completion of the Regulatory Business Plan and all relevant application forms, liaising with the regulator with regards to the licence application
Provide Compliance training for Clients
Draft Compliance. Risk and AML policies and procedures required for Clients
Provide Compliance advice for Clients
Conduct Compliance and Risk reviews / audits for Clients against the regulatory requirements
Work on Adhoc projects where required
Responsibility for drafting an Annual Compliance Plan that should address the key objectives to mitigating compliance risk
Responsibility for compliance matters in relation to our Clients services per ADGM GEN rules 5.4.6, 5.4.7 and 5.4.8
Responsibility for the implementation of anti-money laundering policies, procedures, systems and controls and day-to-day oversight of its compliance with the rules in AML and any relevant anti money laundering legislation applicable in the ADGM
Responsibility for the following matters per ADGM AML rule 12.3: The day-to-day operations for compliance with its AML policies, procedures, systems and controls; Acting as the point of contact to receive notifications from our Clients employees under ADGM AML rule 14.2.2; Taking appropriate action under ADGM AML rule 14.3.1 following the receipt of a notification from our Clients employees; Making, in accordance with Federal Law No. 4 of 2002, suspicious activity reports; Acting as the point of contact for our Clients for competent UAE authorities and the ADGM regarding money laundering issues; Responding promptly to any request for information made by competent UAE authorities; Receiving and acting upon any relevant findings, recommendations, guidance, directives, resolutions, sanctions, notices or other conclusions described in ADGM AML Chapter 11; and Establishing and maintaining an appropriate money laundering training programme and adequate awareness arrangements under ADGM AML Chapter 13.
What will you need to succeed in this role? As to be expected, we are searching for someone who can bring a range of skills and experiences to enhance the team. As such, there are a few essential skills we are looking for:
A good understanding of the ADGM, FSRA or another major international regulators regulations and regulatory framework
Compliance experience from a well-regulated jurisdiction, e.g. UK, EU, US, Singapore
A professional certification in Compliance or Anti Money Laundering, such as ACAMS or ICA
Fund Experience & Fund Structures (desirable)
