We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant for a Government Client.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

AP & AR Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of AP and AR processes, including invoice processing, vendor/customer communication, reconciliation, aging analysis, and resolution of discrepancies, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Fixed Asset Register Maintenance: Maintain and update the fixed asset register to ensure accurate and up-to-date company assets records. Bank Reconciliations: Recording and reconciliation of all bank account transactions with books on monthly basis. General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial transactions. Period Closing Activities: Finalization of Trial balance along with all supporting Balance Sheet account schedules and perform all necessary activities to close the accounting books for the period.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) or other relevant standards. This includes income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and related disclosures on monthly, Quarterly and Yearly basis. Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial performance. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. Lead This may include overseeing audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements. Year-end audit: Take charge of coordinating all aspects of the year-end audit, including preparation, communication with auditors, compliance, documentation, deadline management, and reporting. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls. Implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of financial operations. Financial Systems Management: Utilize financial software and systems to support financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making. Collaborate with IT teams to optimize system functionality and troubleshoot issues. Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing financial insights and analysis. Participate in decision-making processes to drive business growth and profitability.
