A. Management and Leadership tasks
Support the Head of Finance & Admin to provide strategic and technical leadership in financial management.
Effectively managing the provision of financial services, accurate accounting, risk management services, as well as general administrative support for the organization
Leading an experienced team of 4 finance managers
B. Financial Monitoring and Reporting
Computing cost estimates for new project proposals according to GIZ and German ministry standards.
Preparation of the cost to output report in close coordination with the project directors of the company by using GIZ specific planning and reporting systems (Onsite Reporting).
Ensuring the quality check of the financial reports (Onsite Reporting) before submission to the donors.
Good working knowledge of asset management, preferably Winpaccs Asset Management software
Keeping good track of the Creditors and the Debtors through effective management tools.
Ensure that the unrecoverable advances are written off in the statements well on time.
Good working knowledge of VAT and Corporate Tax of UAE and Afghanistan taxation.
Ensuring the Due Diligence process for the selected Firms in the Third-Party Monitoring Contracts for Afghanistan
Ensuring that an adequate internal control system is in place (separation of functions, cross-check principle, observation of the Code of Conduct and procurement rules) according to GIZ regulations and processes together with the officer responsible for the projects or the accountable line management.
Quality control of the tasks of the finance team such as - Voucher preparation, invoice checking, bank and cash payments, management of monthly closing, monitoring of receivables, payables and national commitments, VAT/tax management, fund request management, travel management, etc.
Compliance with company-wide procedures, country-specific guidelines and other legal requirements
Assisting the Head of Administration and Finance with the Internal Control checklist of the Head Office and ensuring a proper Internal control in 2025
Any other task that the Management deems required and necessary
Your profile
Completed Post Graduate diploma in Finance and Administration, ideally with a focus on finance and controlling, or comparable courses of study with corresponding professional experience
More years 20 of experience as a finance manager in non-profit/humanitarian projects, preferably in a crisis context
Very good knowledge of procurement, contract, financial management and controlling systems
In-depth knowledge of SAP and Excel, along with Winpaccs Accounting
Experience in the implementation of internal controls as well as internal and external audits
Ability to work in a team, intercultural and social competence, strong communication skills in combination with consulting skills, flexibility, patience and a high level of resilience in working together in a fragile context
High motivation, commitment and flexibility, ability to transfer, independent way of working
Fluent in English

Pay: AED15,000.00 - AED25,000.00 per month
