The purpose of this position is to provide effective management of the Fault Control, Live Fault response and Remote Condition/System Monitoring (RCM) function, through the use of the MMS and ECC system diagnostic facilities.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To take on line management responsibility for a team of fault controllers, E and M FLRT and a System Monitoring Analyst.
Assist LFRM for managing resource requirement, conducting Performance Review, Disciplinary, Grievance and Competency Assessment (Competency Management System) of the Fault Controllers, FLRT and SMA.
To maintain a day-to-day adequate coverage within the team (Fault Controllers, FLRT and System Monitoring Analyst) with assistance from the Central Roster Planning Team.
Meeting the Key Performance Indicators for fault management and response times, according to the targets agreed with the LFRM.
Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed/ agreed with the LFRM.
For all fault management and Remote Condition Monitoring ( RCM ) issues, to be the focal point of contact.
Assist the LFRM in developing and implementing the fault management processes, using the sub-system diagnostic facilities and Maintenance Management System (MMS).
Assist the LFRM in developing and implementing the RCM program, using the ECC subsystem diagnostic facilities.
Assist the LFRM for ensuring the availability of all tool, logistics and spare requirement for live fault response.
Assist the LFRM in developing and implementing Quality Assurance processes, using the MMS to ensure a consistently accurate record of failure occurrence and engineering response.
Assist the LFRM in developing effective tools to monitor and analyse system performance.
To ensure a ,pre-issuance, thorough review of the RCM reports and delivery to the stakeholders in a timely manner.
With adequate support from the LFRM, carry out periodic review and continuously improve upon the standards, procedures and instructions for fault management, FLRT and RCM.
To integrate the sub-system diagnostic facilities and the MMS, in order to achieve effective and timely management of sub-system faults.
Identify and resolve fault management, live fault response and RCM issues, and coordinate with respective sections in a timely manner in order to ensure continuous improvement.
To ensure that training and development needs are identified and analyzed; an effective plan is devised to cater to the requirements of the team.
Where necessary, serve on special committees and technical working groups.
Perform shift duty and to be assigned /rotated as the Fault Controller at regular intervals as agreed with the Live Fault Response Manager.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 4 years work experience in fault management and systems diagnostics and prior experience in a railway operations fault reporting center or central control center is essential.
Understanding of the major components of track, power supplies, doors, rolling stock, signalling system, automatic train control system, automatic fare collection system, communications system, electrification and their interfaces is necessary.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Ideally a degree holder or higher diploma in in electrical, mechanical, electronics, Civil, Computer and Information Technology engineering discipline or equivalent.
