JOB PURPOSE:The Senior Engineer, Research in ADNOC Research and Innovation Center (ADRIC), is responsible in leading the management of laboratory operations, manage laboratory equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, leads the development of laboratory procedures, providing technical support, responsible for research and development projects, managing laboratory data, collaborating with other team members, ensures laboratory documentation are well maintained, and training and supervising research engineers.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Job Specific AccountabilitiesLabs Operation & Management
Lead the research engineers in managing the operations of laboratories as well as the usage of equipment to ensure the full functionality of the lab for achieving maximum performance.
Supervise preparation of Risk Assessment (RA), Standard Operating procedure (SOP), relevant safety documents for laboratory equipment/process and ensure that all the activities comply with relevant ADNOC HSE policies and Code of Practices.
Leads the development and implementation of laboratory quality control procedures and guidelines including internal quality control programs, proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparisons to ensure accurate laboratory testing and compliance with quality standards such as ISO 17025.
Plans and supervise the regular maintenance checks on laboratory equipment and perform calibration, troubleshooting, repairs whenever possible and raise reports to the line manager recording any issues or findings.
Plans and directs the maintenance of the equipment in coordination with the engineers and contractors when required to ensure optimum performance of the equipment.
Plans and supervise the coordination of the installation of new equipment and maintain the inventory of all lab equipment, consumables, spare parts & supplies and ensure the accuracy of entries and records.
Leads the development of training materials and training to users in the operation of the equipment as well as provide technical guidance for the development and execution of laboratory tests.
Leads the review of test specifications, procedures, process instructions and ensure that the procedures and protocols required to operate laboratory equipment are well documented and available to all lab users.
Plans and manage the routine and non-routine tests, analyse test results, generate reports, and maintaining the laboratory database.
Supervise research engineers to ensure that laboratory tests are conducted accurately and efficiently.
Plans and manage the ordering of supplies, chemicals, and parts needed for laboratory operations as well as perform the technical evaluation of the bids received from vendors/contractors.
Establish and leads the implementation of improve lab operations through efficient use of existing equipment.
Manage ADRIC lab projects portfolio, and report periodically the status of portfolio/projects KPIs.
Research & Development (R&D) Support & Services
Responsible for R&D projects, plans and leads feasibility studies for the lab tests, estimation of costs, prepares Service Level Agreement (SLA) and thereafter leading timely execution of the project within the agreed scope and budget.
Collaborate and facilitate the activities of stake holders in line with the management directives as well as other team members, including laboratory technicians and engineers, to achieve project goals and objectives.
Plan, organize and leads the establishment of new test methods, protocols and set it up for execution, and provide technical inputs/support as and when required.
Manager the performance of routine and specialized technical procedures.
Prepare reports/presentations for internal and external demonstration.
Other Responsibilities
Plan, organize and leads building and/or laboratories tours and demonstrate the assigned lab capabilities.
Complete required functional & training courses as mandated by the organization.
Keep up to date with industry developments related to laboratory testing techniques, equipment, and technology, and incorporating them into laboratory operations as appropriate.
Performs duties as assigned by line manager.

Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management

Communicate and coordinate with external parties including consultants, third party service providers, and government agencies as required.
Bachelors degree in physical science, chemistry, maths, or engineering.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
A minimum of 10 plus years of relevant experience in the relevant field and strong laboratory skills, including experience with laboratory equipment, procedures, data analysis and interpretation.
