Overview: The Senior Engineer - Loss Prevention is responsible for executing design activities and preparing essential safety and reliability documents for projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety standards, liaising with various engineering disciplines, and overseeing the implementation of loss prevention measures under the guidance of the Lead Loss Prevention Engineer. The Senior Engineer will play a pivotal role in preparing, checking, and approving safety-related deliverables and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met. Key Responsibilities:
Execute design activities and prepare key safety and reliability documents.
Review interdisciplinary documents to ensure consistency and compliance.
Become fully familiar with the project's scope of work and monitor any changes, raising change notifications as necessary.
Liaise with Project Management Team (PMT) and other discipline engineers as directed by the Lead Loss Prevention Engineer.
Prepare and check the following deliverables as per project scope:
Loss prevention philosophy and safety concept.
Fire protection design basis.
Hazardous area classification schedule and layouts.
Criteria and specifications for passive fire protection (fireproofing), including schedule and layouts.
Fire and gas detection system layouts and associated design philosophy.
Layout drawings for safety equipment locations, escape routes, and safety signs.
Design basis and characterization for the firefighting protection system and related documents and layouts.
Hydraulic calculations for fire water networks and spray systems.
Supply specifications for firefighting, safety, and lifesaving equipment, including Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and vendor documentation reviews.
Coordinate and lead safety workshops and review third-party safety studies.
Liaise with the drafting team for the development of safety and fire protection drawings.
Ensure the timely and accurate execution of all safety-related engineering tasks. Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, or Fire Engineering). Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
Certification in Fire Safety Engineering or Loss Prevention is a plus.
Proficiency in safety engineering software and fire water network hydraulic calculation tools.
Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes (Qatar Energy, ADNOC, SHELL, ARAMCO, etc.). Experience:
8-10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, preferably with offshore wellhead/process platform experience.
Proven experience in Loss Prevention and Fire Safety design, documentation, and project management. Technical Knowledge:
Expertise in the preparation of fire water network P&IDs.
Familiarity with international regulations and standards, such as those from Qatar Energy, ADNOC, SHELL, and ARAMCO.

Requirements:
Experience in conducting safety workshops and hazard analysis studies (HAZID, HAZOP). Strong problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of managing safety engineering challenges in complex projects.
