In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategyThe GP7200 Strategic Propulsion Engineer (STCL) provides CSA customer focused technical leadership, acting as the point of contact for all customer related MRO technical issues. You will provide on-site support at the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre MRO Shop by providing engine workscopes which meet the shop visit objectives, interpretation of OEM data & technical instructions and the coordination of NPI activities. As part of the Services Engineering team you will be responsible for communication to internal organisations regarding leading indicator programs, part condition assessments, status of lean projects and partnering with EA Engineering and the Airline Customer to define the Customer Repair Specification.In this role you will need to build a trusting, influential relationship with our Airline Customers and MRO shops at all levels of management.Essential Responsibilities:
- Partner with Operators to define their customised repair specifications and TOW optimisation opportunities for assigned contracts.
- Define engine workscopes meeting the Maintenance Planning Guide and customer repair specification objectives. Review customers requirements and recommend engine workscope to maximise/optimise engine Time on Wing life.
- Partner with Customer Program Managers (CPMs) and RSPs to define and execute the maintenance strategy for assigned customer contracts.
- Ensure that all assigned shop visits are well planned and executed from a technical, cost perspective through continuous oversight.
- Follow and promote all established GE and Engine Alliance Engineering Policies and Procedures and ensure that all technical data is precise and properly documented.
- Formulate, implement, and continuously communicate plans to achieve technical and program requirements with appropriate cost, schedule and risk trades.
- Identify need for technical and program reviews within the GP7200 community and participate both as a leader and reviewer.
- Provide technical expertise to support the MRO shop, including activities such as customer issue resolution, troubleshooting, service bulletin implementation, fleet configuration, investigation workscopes and collection of part condition assessments and leading indicators.
- Foster and inspire a collaborative work environment built on trust, proactive communication, clear roles & responsibilities, empathy and transparency, including mentoring responsibilities.
- Apply LEAN analytical tools to assist the customer and MROs with proactive reliability and management or procedural improvements.
- Lead business initiatives for field issues and cost of ownership goals. Participate/lead initiatives related to reducing cost per shop visit and share best practices with rest of the team.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university (or High School Diploma / GED with preference in Aerospace, Mechancial)
Minimum of 8 years of experience in an MRO Engineering position, Airline engineering support or Aviation Engines (design, analysis, systems, services).
Experience in engine troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
Strong project management skills including cross-functional coordination of activities.
Demonstrated leadership in continuous improvement project.
