Job Description

Summary Team leader will guide and augment a diverse team of engineers located in META Region (Middle East, Turkey and Africa) in support of GEV and non-GEV power generation and transmission customers, with focus on thermal generation and Electrification technologies. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead and augment a diverse team of engineers in support of GEV and non-GEV power generation customers, with focus on thermal generation and Electrification technologies.
  • Lead the technical and career development of direct reports.
  • Facilitate the global integration of the META team within the global practice. Interact with other team leaders to resolve global study needs.
  • Develop projects with customers; manage contracts to ensure technical, schedule and cost objectives are met; actively participate in identifying and cultivating new customers and business opportunities; lead preparation of proposals; and make customer presentations.
  • Support domestic and international projects across regions depending on overall market needs, and communicate customer needs and values back to GE to support marketing initiatives
  • Contributing to project teams to perform technical analysis and to mentor and advise other team members. Organizing project teams and guiding the work of individual contributors to the team effort.
  • Implement and maintain a variety of administrative functions in support of a diverse team focused on the business core practice areas and be able to influence functions supporting your operation
  • Effectively communicate results to both internal and external executives by preparing written detailed and summary reports and making presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and customer value propositions
  • Work with peers and CS commercial team to develop consulting opportunity pipeline in the Grid Integration and Stability space,
  • Schedule and hold regular technically-focused team meetings to encourage and ensure technology growth/sharing among the team.
  • Work closely with other team leaders and technical directors to ensure sharing and improvement of tools and development of resources.
  • Actively participate in industry forums to promote Consulting Services and GE technology
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Masters or equivalent degree in Electrical, Systems or Power Systems Engineering
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in technical consulting, engineering, product management or a related function, including at least 1 year of experience leading consulting projects or diverse consulting teams
  • Demonstrated professional experience in the following general areas:
  • Electric power systems engineering or Industrial power plant engineering
  • Experience in preparation of complex technical proposals
  • Loadflow, dynamic, short circuit modeling and analyses
  • Evaluation of generation grid code compliance
  • In depth expertise in one of the following areas:
  • Thermal generation grid code testing, control tuning and modifications (PSS, AVR, etc)
  • Transmission level studies, including HVDC and Inverter based resources (like PV Solar and Wind generation)
  • Design and operation of complex industrial systems with captive generation
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills from previous roles
  • Willingness and availability to travel up to 30%
Desired Qualifications
  • Master or PhD degree in electrical or electric power engineering or related field of study from an accredited university or college
  • Demonstrated professional experience in the following areas:
  • Consulting on large interconnected system evaluations with IBRs
  • Power generation, FACTS and/or variable speed drive control system design, analysis, implementation and testing
  • Understanding of grid systems interactions between IBR plants, FACTS equipment and load/variable speed drive controls
  • Plant and converter control configuration of IBR plants with GE equipment including implementation, commissioning and testing.
  • Performing power systems analysis using dynamic/transient simulation and other analytical tools, such as PSLF, PSS/E, PowerFactory, Aspen One-Liner, EMTP, PSCAD, ATP.
  • Active participation in industry professional societies, such as IEEE, IEC, CIGRE
  • Experience with Technical consulting in the META region
  • Experience with GE Vernova businesses
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
