We are seeking a Senior Design and Commissioning Engineer with expertise in ELV, ICT, BMS, and Fire and Safety systems. In this role, you will manage and lead the design, development, installation, and commissioning phases of complex engineering projects. You will work on a range of systems, ensuring the successful integration of ELV systems (including CCTV, Access Control, and Public Address Systems), ICT infrastructure (such as data networks and telecom systems), BMS (for energy management and building automation), and Fire and Safety systems (including alarms and suppression systems). This is a hands-on, technical, and leadership-focused position that requires both strong engineering knowledge and a collaborative approach to managing teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
Design Engineering:
Lead the design and development of ELV, ICT, BMS, and Fire & Safety systems for various infrastructure projects, ensuring integration with other building systems.
Prepare detailed design plans, specifications, and system layouts for CCTV, access control, public address systems, data networks, telecom systems, fire alarm, emergency lighting, BMS, and other related systems.
Perform system sizing, load calculations, and technical evaluations based on client requirements, local codes, and industry standards.
Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project objectives and specifications.
Commissioning:
Oversee the commissioning of ELV, ICT, BMS, and Fire & Safety systems, ensuring all installations are executed according to design specifications and functionality requirements.
Develop commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures, ensuring compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Supervise on-site commissioning activities, testing, and troubleshooting of systems, ensuring all systems are fully operational before handover to the client.
Work closely with vendors, contractors, and other teams to resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase and ensure smooth project execution.
System Integration and Testing:
Ensure proper integration of ELV, ICT, BMS, and Fire & Safety systems with other building management systems and infrastructure.
Conduct system tests, performance evaluations, and troubleshooting, ensuring each system meets the required standards and specifications.
Provide support in system calibration, configuration, and optimization during the commissioning phase.
Project Management and Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to align the design and commissioning process with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, risk assessments, and change management plans.
Ensure quality assurance throughout the design and commissioning processes, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Client Interaction and Technical Support:
Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients during the design and commissioning phases, providing updates, reports, and addressing any concerns.
Offer post-commissioning support, including troubleshooting, training, and system optimization.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure all designs, installations, and commissioning processes comply with relevant local, national, and international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., fire safety codes, electrical standards, ICT protocols).
Review and approve as-built documentation and verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in design engineering and commissioning, particularly in ELV, ICT, BMS, and Fire & Safety systems for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Proven expertise in the design, installation, and commissioning of CCTV, access control, data networks, telecom systems, fire alarm systems, energy management, and other critical building technologies.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
Deep knowledge of ELV, ICT, BMS, and Fire & Safety systems, including their design, integration, and commissioning.
Strong proficiency with industry-specific tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Dialux, etc.).
Expertise in system troubleshooting, fault-finding, and commissioning of complex systems.
Understanding of applicable standards, codes, and regulations related to fire safety, building automation, and ICT infrastructure.
Certifications:
Certification in relevant fields such as Chartered Engineer (CEng), PMP, or industry-specific certifications in ELV, ICT, BMS, and Fire & Safety are a plus.
Leadership & Communication:
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide and support junior engineers and technical teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
