PURPOSE OF THE JOB:Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for oil and gas projects. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of these systems, ensuring they meet industry standards, project specifications, and client requirements. The engineer will also provide technical support, lead a team of engineers, and collaborate with other departments to achieve project goals.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop detailed design documents for electrical systems, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and layout drawings.
Specify and select appropriate electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers based on project requirements.
Design and implement power distribution systems, grounding systems, and protection schemes.
Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from conception through commissioning.
Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Provide technical expertise and support during the installation, commissioning, and start-up phases of projects.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical systems and equipment.
Conduct root cause analysis of system failures and implement corrective actions.
Ensure all electrical systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of systems to ensure ongoing compliance and performance.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the oil and gas industry.
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems design, power distribution, and control systems.
Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, etc.).
Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
