Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Site Construction (Villas & Buildings)Responsibilities:
Design & Planning:
Design electrical systems for villas, residential complexes, and commercial buildings, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards.
Develop layout plans for electrical wiring, lighting systems, distribution boards, and other electrical components.
Calculate load requirements for the electrical system to ensure adequate power supply.
Coordinate with architects and other engineers (civil, mechanical, etc.) to ensure electrical plans align with overall building design.
Site Supervision & Installation:
Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, power outlets, switchboards, and electrical panels.
Supervise the installation of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Ensure the electrical team adheres to safety guidelines and building codes while carrying out work on-site.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues related to electrical systems.
Quality Assurance & Testing:
Conduct inspections and tests on electrical systems to ensure that they function safely and efficiently.
Verify that all electrical components are installed correctly, from cable routing to the installation of circuit breakers and other electrical equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during construction, ensuring that the systems meet project requirements.
Ensure that all electrical works are in line with relevant codes, standards, and local regulations (such as IEC, NEC, etc.).
Coordination & Communication:
Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and quality completion of electrical installations.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure project specifications and standards are met.
Report project progress, issues, and potential delays to project managers and senior engineers.
Safety Management:
Ensure that safety protocols are followed, including safe installation practices and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Identify and mitigate potential electrical hazards during construction.
Conduct safety audits and provide training to workers on safe electrical practices.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare technical reports and documentation, including as-built drawings, electrical schematics, and inspection reports.
Maintain accurate records of electrical system designs, installations, and any changes made during the construction phase.
Ensure that all electrical work complies with the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes.
Commissioning & Handover:
Assist in the commissioning of electrical systems before handover to the client.
Provide operational manuals, maintenance instructions, and troubleshooting guidelines to building owners or facility managers.
Perform final inspections and quality checks to ensure systems are functioning as per specifications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer status, PMP, etc.) are a plus.
Experience in electrical system design and construction management.
Proficient in using electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
Strong understanding of local electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
Experience with project management, team supervision, and coordination.
Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of power distribution, lighting design, control systems, and electrical installations.
Proficiency in electrical design tools and software.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent project management and leadership abilities.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices.
Work Environment:
Site-based, typically working on construction sites, so physical presence and site visits are required.
Some work might be done in an office environment during the design and planning phases.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
