Role Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Design Manager with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the UAE market. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Dubai office. The ideal candidate will have formal education in architecture or interior design, with demonstrated expertise in managing high-specification fit-out projects from initiation to final handover.

The Design Manager will lead the design process across multiple concurrent projects, overseeing the technical and aesthetic coordination between design, execution, and stakeholder engagement. The role involves managing internal teams and external consultants, driving detailed design packages, conducting rigorous reviews, and ensuring seamless collaboration with contractors and suppliers. A deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, contractor workflows, and premium finishing standards is essential.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design and delivery of high-end interior fit-out projects with particular focus on healthcare environments and premium commercial spaces. Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept development and authority approvals to site coordination and final handover. Manage multidisciplinary teams, both in-house and external consultants, ensuring alignment on design intent and delivery timelines. Serve as the main point of contact with contractors and vendors, ensuring high standards of execution and material compliance. Conduct detailed design reviews and value engineering sessions to uphold quality and cost-efficiency. Implement design control procedures and maintain full documentation throughout the project cycle. Ensure adherence to local building codes, health standards, and client requirements for specialized environments.

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the UAE market, with expertise in premium commercial interiors. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in Architecture or Interior Design (Master's preferred). Strong leadership in project management, site coordination, and stakeholder communication. Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and other relevant design tools. In-depth knowledge of UAE building codes, technical regulations, and procurement procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus. Demonstrated ability to handle fast-paced, high-stakes environments with minimal supervision.
