The Role

Our Multi National Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Design Manager / Associate Design Director to join their team in the UAE to work on new build and fit out / refurbishment projects in the Emirates and wider GCC. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Design Manager on base build, fit out and refurbishment projects in the UAE and the wider GCC and a proven background working in a recognised PMC or Design Consultancy business. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client. Key Responsibilities: o Collaborate with the Design Director to develop and execute the creative vision for projects across multiple sectors o Lead, manage, & mentor providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities. o Oversee the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with brand standards and project goals. o Gives final approval for documents that are sent to the client; especially those of a design nature o Partner with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, and engineering to ensure cohesive and impactful design solutions. o Ensures that service delivery standards are upheld and plays a role in upkeeping and evolving the standards as required o Translate strategic goals into compelling design concepts, balancing creativity with functionality and user needs. o Present ideas, concepts, and designs to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams effectively and persuasively. o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, tools, and best practices, and integrate them into the design process. o Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail. o Oversees client relationships with senior management and company leaders o Oversees the quality of reports and guides the production of high-level documents that are being issued by junior team members and continually assesses documents for functionality and refinement when needed; these documents include: baseline programmes, drawings, project execution plans, meeting minutes, project dashboards, action registers, Gantt Chart and critical path, risk registers o Coordinate and oversee all technical activities relating to architectural and engineering projects, including directing the design team, reviewing drafts and computer models, and approving design changes. o Can review and assess, amend and negotiate client contracts and terms of service for approval by COO o Leads presentations to investors, business partners and company executives concerning different phases of a project o Reviews proposals and approves or denies them / gives final approval of work produced by more junior team members, providing feedback and coaching as applicable o Creates agenda and prepares for a weekly de-brief to managing director regarding work across portfolio o Has good budgeting skills and is able to reduce costs without making adjustments that would affect quality o Assess potential projects for feasibility by researching and analyzing associated technology, design requirements, governmental regulations, and market demand o Innovate and develop new standards, policies, and procedures for architectural design and engineering work as necessary to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.



Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field o Must have UAE experience o Strong project & design management skills o Experience working for Consultancy firms is an advantage o Demonstrated strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire, motivate, and empower team members to reach their full potential. o Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and project partners. o Comprehensive knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building standards, and environmental regulations relevant to projects in the Middle East.
