Supervision and development of junior co-ordinators.What you will do:Responsible for:
Project Document Review: Review project documents to identify gaps or differences in IFC architecture, structural, ID, and MEP services drawings. Highlight discrepancies and missing design information and raise RFIs (Requests for Information).
Drawing Preparation: Prepare rough drafts and scale working drawings, guiding drafting technicians to prepare final shop drawings.
Shop Drawing Coordination: Review shop drawings and details of various structural, architectural, and ID elements. Coordinate with the MEP team to ensure seamless integration.
Steel Drawings & BBS : Review and approve steel drawings, details, and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications (not applicable for Architect) .
Submission Management: Ensure timely submission of shop drawings to consultants and coordinate for timely approval.
Schedule Management: Prepare and update material and shop drawings submission schedules/logs.
Technical Package Preparation: Prepare technical packages for subcontract works. Verify BOQs and highlight discrepancies with actual requirements.
Subcontractor Coordination: Follow up with subcontractors for timely submission of materials and shop drawings. Review submissions before forwarding them to consultants.
Documentation: Document project technical issues logs and maintain the project technical library.
Client & Consultant Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for technical queries and collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and project teams to resolve issues promptly.
Efficiency
Plan and organize workload to meet project priorities.
Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised but also highlight issues to senior design staff.
Resolve issues and coordination of information to meet required timescales and site activities raising RFIs as necessary.
Communication Skills
Demonstrate good written and oral skills.
Interact with Senior / Junior staff / Client / Site Team to provide appropriate feedback (meetings, advance info etc).
Show ability to manage workload with subordinate staff.
Technical Knowledge
Demonstrate ability to visualize in 3D.
Understand the requirements and ability to read Consultants / Sub contractors drawings.
Raise RFIs / highlighting areas left uncoordinated by the Consultants / Sub contractors.
Understand different disciplines within the construction team and reflect this in the way coordination problems are resolved.
Develop an understanding of electronic document management system.
Understand the requirements of a collaboration system and how it will benefit the design department.
Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety, quality of services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed within AFC
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of process and practices taking into account, the interests and benefits to Al Futtaim and its employees.
Other Tasks
Any other reasonable request of work/ task as allocated by the Line Manager.
