Role: Senior Contracts Specialist
Location: Abu Dhabi
Contract Duration: 6 months ( with possible extension)
The Senior Contracts Specialist is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end contract management process, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. This role involves negotiating, drafting, and managing a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, and procurement contracts.
Qualification and skills: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in science, engineering, or management.
  • SAP ARIBA hands-on experience is desirable.
  • Contracts, Procurement, and supply-chain-related Certifications preferred (CPCM, CFCM, CIPS, ISM, etc)
  • Strong understanding of contractual approaches, contractual terminology, and negotiation techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex terms clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate contractual risks.
Industry Experience: Minimum 12 years of experience in tendering, bidding, and contracts.
Key Responsibilities: The ideal candidate should possess prior expertise in reviewing/analyzing the scope of requirements, creating a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and pricing schedule, drafting tender documents, issuing expressions of interest (EOI), requesting proposals or tenders (RFP/RFT), conducting technical and commercial evaluations, negotiating contracts, making award recommendations, preparing agreement documents, managing post-contract administration, and being well-versed in terms and conditions.
Additionally, below is a brief overview of the key responsibilities.
  • Led contract negotiations with vendors, clients, and partners to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing the full contract lifecycle, including renewal, amendment, and termination processes.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with legal, finance, and operational teams to resolve any contract-related issues or disputes.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and implementing appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Developing and maintaining robust contract management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Providing guidance, and mentorship to other relevant stakeholders.
The Senior Contracts Specialist responsibilities require a strong understanding of contract law, legal terminology, and negotiation techniques, as well as excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
