As one of our Senior Commercial Manager, we want you to help us achieve our commitment to our projects. To fulfil this obligation, we need you to demonstrate a minimum of 20 years of experience with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or equivalent from a recognized university. You will lead and have previously worked on major projects. We prefer that you hold an RICS, CIOB or equivalent accreditation. General Description of Role and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Project Director, working alongside (managing) Lead Contracts & Commercial and Lead Claims Managers. Overseeing commercial, contracts and claims aspects of the construction of a multi-billion USD airport project, including airfield, taxiways, runways & passenger terminals. Communicate with the Clients representatives continuously regarding the status in the assigned area and areas of concern. Take action on in-house Project Management procedures and prepare correspondence needed to comply with Contract requirements and Clients procedures. Maintain and suggest improvements to specific project procedures for monitoring and reporting in the assigned area. Prepare special reports to the Project Director as needed to investigate any problem related to the Scope of Services, Commercial, Contracts and Claims aspects of the project and recommend solutions to Management. Identify priorities and tasks and develop the organization structure to assure execution of tasks, by providing clear direction on methods, time frame and schedule to achieve the stated goals. Provide a clear definition of roles and responsibilities of staff in relation to assigned areas. Attend Executive meetings, Commercial, Contract and Claims meetings and progress meetings as may be required to understand project status. Monitor performance to ensure the successful delivery of the Key Performance Indicators and client contractual requirements. Advice the Project Director on any potential variation to the scope of work to Hill that may generate cost or time impact and present the Project Managements assessment. Assist the Project Director in leading the Project Management staff in assessing variations and claims and report the technical position of the proposed variation to the Client. Advise the Project Director of any foreseen slippage of progress and summarize corrective actions. Review weekly and monthly reports (including progress, extensions of time, commercial, claims, determinations and the like. Other duties as may be assigned. Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: Recognised degree in Quantity Surveying I Engineering. Chartered Quantity Surveyor. Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in construction cost management, of which no less than 3 years shall be recent and resident in Doha. Minimum 5 years working in/with the Company. Professional Membership, such as RICS and training in construction contract law, are required. Preferred Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). Preferred Member of Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB). Preferred Member of the Society of Construction Law. Preferred LB (Hons). Essential MRICS professional qualifications. Legal qualification and/or Construction law ideal.
