Overview: The Senior Building Services Engineer will lead the design, supervision, and management of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for large-scale construction projects. The role requires comprehensive knowledge in MEP design, quality control, and project management, with a focus on integrating building services seamlessly into the overall project design. The Senior Engineer will ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and project requirements, overseeing the entire lifecycle from design to final handover.
Responsibilities:
Design Review and Approval: Review and approve MEP designs, ensuring compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and international best practices. Provide feedback to ensure the designs are practical, efficient, and cost-effective.
Site Supervision and Project Management: Oversee the installation of MEP systems, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and adhering to the highest quality standards. Manage MEP activities from start-up to commissioning, testing, and handover.
Coordination with Other Disciplines: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth integration of MEP systems into the overall project design.
Quality Control and Compliance: Implement quality control measures for MEP installations, conducting inspections, tests, and commissioning. Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and project specifications.
Technical Issue Resolution: Address and resolve technical issues related to MEP systems during construction, coordinating with the design and construction teams for timely solutions.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of MEP activities, including progress reports, QA/QC documentation, and as-built records for project closeout.
Client Liaison and Stakeholder Management: Communicate regularly with the client on MEP-related matters, providing updates and addressing concerns.
Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor site engineers and inspectors involved in MEP installations, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Competency Requirements:
Proven experience as a Senior Building Services Engineer in large-scale projects, particularly in international PMC contracts.
Extensive hands-on experience in MEP design, installation supervision, and quality control processes.
Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
Proficiency in engineering software and project management tools with a systematic approach to project management.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering with over 15 years of experience.
Master's degree in the same fields with over 12 years of experience.
Professional Membership: Chartered membership in CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent.
Professional Experience: 12-15 years of experience in MEP design and supervision, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
