We are looking for an experienced Senior Blockchain Developer to lead the development of blockchain-based solutions for carbon credit systems. Your work will focus on designing, implementing, and scaling platforms that facilitate the transparent issuance, tracking, and trading of carbon credits using blockchain technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and Management of Blockchain Platforms

Tokenization of Carbon Credits: Design tokens representing carbon credits, making them traceable, transferable, and easily tradeable on blockchain platforms.

Smart Contract Development: Create smart contracts to automate credit management processes, such as issuance, verification, and transfer.

Integration with Existing Markets: Connect the blockchain platform to carbon credit marketplaces, facilitating seamless buying and selling.

• Monitoring and Verification

Credit Traceability: Build systems to transparently and immutably record the origin and usage of carbon credits.

Automated Verification: Develop algorithms and interfaces to certify the authenticity of credits and ensure compliance with standards like the Gold Standard or Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).

Transparent Reporting: Provide tools for real-time monitoring and reporting for stakeholders.

• Development of Decentralized Ecosystems

Decentralized Markets: Create peer-to-peer platforms to enable the trading of carbon credits without intermediaries.

Governance via DAO: Design governance models based on Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO) to allow communities to democratically manage carbon credit-related projects.

• Integration of IoT and Advanced Technologies

IoT for Environmental Monitoring: Integrate data from IoT sensors to monitor CO2 emissions or absorption by green projects in real time.

Machine Learning and AI: Leverage artificial intelligence to analyse data and accurately estimate the generated credits.

• Security and Compliance

Data Protection: Ensure that emission and credit-related data are secure and comply with privacy regulations.

Regulatory Adherence: Guarantee that platforms comply with global and local regulations for carbon credit trading.

• Promoting a Sustainable Economy

Stakeholder Education: Collaborate with businesses and governments to explain the benefits of using blockchain for carbon credits.

Green Incentives: Develop blockchain-based reward systems to incentivize companies or individuals to reduce their carbon footprint.

Required Skills:

Blockchain Programming: Expertise in languages like Solidity, Rust, and Go.

Knowledge of Carbon Credit Systems: Familiarity with standards like the Gold Standard, VCS, and offsetting mechanisms.

Smart Contract Development: Proficiency in creating contracts for tokenization and transaction management.

IoT Systems and Environmental Data: Experience integrating sensors and environmental monitoring devices.

Cloud Computing Skills: Capable of supporting real-time data computation and management.

Experience and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in blockchain development, with at least 2 years working on sustainability or carbon-related projects.
• Proven track record of delivering blockchain-based solutions.
• Strong understanding of cryptography, consensus algorithms, and decentralized systems.
• Experience integrating blockchain solutions with Web2 technologies.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Blockchain Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of carbon markets, carbon accounting, and sustainability frameworks.
• Experience with energy-efficient consensus mechanisms like Proof of Stake (PoS).
• Familiarity with interoperability protocols like Polkadot, Cosmos, or Hyperledger.
• Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and governance in blockchain.
• Basic front-end development skills for integrating blockchain functionality into user interfaces.
