Senior Biomedical Technician

Job Description

:
  • Performs maintenance repair tasks, including disassembly, reassembly, and test operation.
  • Prepares and enters data in logs, reports, forms, and equipment records about inspections, repairs, and equipment condition and operation periodically.
  • Performs inspection, inventory procedures, and machine tagging for incoming new equipment prior to use.
  • Provides technical assistance, training, and instruction to staff in the maintenance and operation of equipment.
  • Carries out regular rounds and systematic preventive maintenance of all medical equipment and ensures problems are rectified promptly.
  • Analyzes equipment for failure, faults, or malfunctions using test instruments and technical literature and schematics.
  • Interprets engineering and vendor information, schematic diagrams, and graphic illustrations utilizing clinical, physiologic, and electronic principles.
  • Provides engineering and technical advice to ensure compliance with electrical and other safety standards and prepares reports as required.
  • Works evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays according to the schedule compiled by the head of the department.
  • Strictly adheres to the organization's regulations and policies, especially those related to infection control, patient safety, EHSMS, DOH, JCI, and ISO.
  • Supports Continuous Quality Improvement and participates in all quality assurance activities of the service.
  • Participates in scheduled in-service training programs, CNEs, CMEs, in-house activities, conferences, or other programs as requested.
  • Exercises effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, associates, and management.
  • Maintains confidentiality as per the agreement signed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to listen to others to promote effective communication.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of hospital policies and procedures and demonstrates respect for them.
  • Carries out other duties as requested by the head of the department.
  • Complies with all OSH and infection control policies, standards, and procedures and cooperates with hospital management to meet these requirements.
  • Is familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Notifies OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and issues, and assists with the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports.
  • Complies with waste management procedures and policies.
  • Attends applicable OSH/infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness programs.
  • Uses appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

Qualifications:
  • Qualification: Diploma in Electronics and Communication or Biomedical Engineering, B.E. (Biomedical Engineering), or equivalent degree/fellowship.
  • Experience: At least 3+ years of experience with Diploma/B.E.
  • Skills: Good knowledge of English to read and understand technical literature and schematics.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Word and Excel.
