The Opportunity

Arup is seeking a Senior Architect to join its growing architectural team in Dubai. This role involves directing significant and complex projects across sectors such as Transport, Sport, Science and Industry, and Commercial. The successful candidate will work within large, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable 'Total Architecture' solutions. Working very closely with colleagues and clients, you will be accountable to steer and manage design teams on major projects in Transport, Sport, Science and Industry, and Commercial sectors. Engage with clients, statutory bodies, stakeholders, and contractors, ensuring effective communication and partneship. Oversee design development, reviews, and presentations using tools such as drawings, physical models, and virtual models. Work with multi-disciplinary teams to produce fully coordinated project deliverables, including BIM models, drawings, schedules, and specifications. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of alliance, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with Arup's Quality Management System. Potentially relocate to site-based offices as requested.

s this role right for you?

We are looking for the following skills.


Bachelor's degree in architecture. Knowledge working on medium to large-scale projects, with deep expertise in at least two of the following sectors: Workspace/Commercial Offices, High-end Residential, Science and Industry, Transport and Sports. Proven knowledge across all design stages, from feasibility to construction, with a strong appreciation of the UAE building code and authorities requirements. Demonstrated ability to deliver projects prioritizing holistic sustainability and wellbeing. Proficiency in Revit is a plus; knowledge with Rhino, Sketchup, rendering tools, and VR is a prerequisite. Fluency in spoken and written English, with strong graphic communication skills. Knowledge of commercial aspects of projects and contracts is prerequisite.
