The Senior Accountant Executive is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities of the organization, managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and preparing financial reports. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end/year-end closings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with accounting standards.
• Conduct detailed analysis of financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis.
• General Accounting:
• Oversee general ledger entries and ensure proper classification of transactions.
• Reconcile accounts, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial records.
• Manage and oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Month-End & Year-End Closing:
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements during financial reporting.
• Internal Controls & Compliance:
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, company policies, and financial reporting standards.
• Assist with external audits and ensure timely submission of required documents.
• Process Improvement & Efficiency:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting systems, workflows, and reporting.
• Streamline financial operations and accounting practices to improve efficiency.
• Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
• Supervise, train, and provide guidance to junior accountants or accounting staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant financial data and provide support on financial matters.
• Tax & Regulatory Compliance:
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely payment of taxes.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is highly preferred.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, accounting software, and general ledger functions.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
