Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced

Senior Accountan

t to join our finance team within a reputable UAE-based contracting company. The ideal candidate will have

10-13 years of overall accounting experience

, including

4-5 years in a senior accounting role

, with a strong focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting within the contracting sector. The Senior Accountant will manage the full spectrum of financial operations and ensure compliance with UAE regulations, providing valuable insights into financial performance and project cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivables:

Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.

Review and verify supplier invoices and ensure adherence to contractual terms and conditions.

Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers to ensure the accuracy of financial records.

Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate client invoicing, timely collections, and resolve payment issues as needed.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UAE accounting standards and international regulations (IFRS).

Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management, ensuring the company remains on track with financial targets.

Perform variance analysis to identify financial discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for cost control.

Provide financial insights and advice to management, helping to improve profitability and business decision-making.

Contracting Industry Focus:

Manage project-based accounting functions including job costing, revenue recognition, progress billing, and retention.

Ensure proper tracking of project costs and financial performance in line with contract specifications and company goals.

Review and reconcile project financials, ensuring accurate reporting for each contract and ensuring timely invoicing based on project milestones.

Audit & Compliance:

Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant with regulations.

Ensure the company's accounting practices are in compliance with UAE tax laws, financial regulations, and industry standards.

Maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud and safeguard company assets.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems and processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Implement best practices and contribute to the continuous development of accounting procedures and financial reporting standards.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor junior accountants and support staff, ensuring a high level of performance and development.

Foster collaboration with other departments such as procurement, operations, and project management for seamless financial operations.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting

, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification (

CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent

) is highly desirable.

Experience:

10-13

years of overall accounting experience, with at least

4-5 years

in a senior accountant role, preferably within a UAE-based contracting company.

Strong experience in

accounts payable, accounts receivable

, and

financial reporting within the contracting or construction industry.

Proven track record of managing project-based a

ccounting, including job costing, billing, and progress payment tracking.

Skills:

Deep knowledge of UAE accounting regulations and construction industry financial practices.

Proficient in

accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems).

Strong analytical,

Pay: AED6,500.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
