Job Summary: Accountant - Freight Forwarding & Logistics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant for our Freight Forwarding & Logistics company. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in shipping and logistics accounting and be proficient in Climax Software. This role requires managing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and handling day-to-day financial operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger.

- Handle billing, invoicing, and financial transactions related to freight forwarding and shipping.

- Prepare and analyze financial reports, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets.

- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT, and customs documentation requirements.

- Work on Climax Software for accurate financial record-keeping and reporting.

- Reconcile freight charges, vendor payments, and customer accounts.

- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting.

- Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities for financial matters.

- Maintain proper documentation of all transactions and ensure internal controls.

- Support management with financial insights and reports for decision-making.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics company.

- Proficiency in Climax Software is a must.

- Strong knowledge of freight charges, customs regulations, VAT, and tax compliance.

- Expertise in financial reporting, reconciliation, and auditing.

- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
