Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing financial operations, overseeing the end-to-end accounting process, and ensuring smooth execution of client accounts from data entry to finalization. This individual will also supervise and mentor the accounting team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate must have excellent accounting knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management and Accounting Services:
Manage a portfolio of clients, providing end-to-end accounting services from data entry to finalization of financial statements.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of client deliverables such as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Oversee the preparation and review of balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other key financial reports.
Ensure all client queries and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of junior accountants and clerks to ensure that daily tasks are executed efficiently and deadlines are met.
Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress, providing guidance and support when necessary.
Conduct regular team meetings to ensure open communication, address concerns, and streamline processes.
Process Improvement and Timely Delivery:
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and ensure they are followed accurately and consistently.
Maintain a robust system for timely submission of financial reports, ensuring all deadlines are met for internal and client purposes.
Financial Reconciliation and Closing:
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of financial records.
Oversee the reconciliation of accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved, and adjustments are made where necessary
Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain regular communication with clients, updating them on the status of their accounts and addressing any concerns.
Provide strategic recommendations to clients based on financial reports and analysis, helping them with financial planning and decision-making.
Keep the team up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on managing client accounts, finalizing accounts, and leading a team.
Demonstrated experience in preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and handling client inquiries.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Tally)
Understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
Detail-oriented, with a problem-solving mindset and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Ability to train and develop a team to build a high-performance culture.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
