Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: UAE / Saudi Arabia.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who is well versed in Marine Offshore Oil and Gas industry to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP or relevant accounting standards.
• Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide analytical insights to management.
• Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support external audits. Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Should be able to do IFRS Internal Auditing, calculating important Financial Ratios on monthly basis. Finalization of Accounts, Profit & Loss A/c and Balance sheet and making Schedules and forming part Point wise of the P & L A/c. and Balance sheet , Interacting with Auditors, Managing Finance A/c & Cost Control.
• Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes. Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Tax Preparation: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns. Stay current with tax regulations and identify tax planning opportunities.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic initiatives. Provide recommendations to improve financial performance and efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior accounting staff. Foster a collaborative team environment.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices. Assist in the implementation of new accounting software and tools.
• Ship Agency work, Book Keeping for Working Capital Management Liaising with Bank for LG, BG, Foreign Remittance, Foreign Currency A/c, Local & International Shipping Correspondence, Chatterers Vessels, and Ship Owners Liner's for Loading & Discharge of Chemical, Gas Tankers, Bulk cargo vessels to & from all Ports. Ideal candidate to have experience in preparing Estimated Expenses Proforma Disbursement Account (PDA) along with Withholding Tax Calculation (Zakat) for each calling Vessel & Controlling advance fund, Final Disbursement Account (FDA).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in MARINE industry must, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
