Veolia Gulf Water Services LLC (\'VGWS\') is a dual purpose business, hosting the HQ of the United Arab Emirates as well as managing two Operations and Management Contracts located in Warsan and Jebel Ali, UAE. The role of the finance department is not limited to keeping the company\'s accounts. Its influence goes far beyond and impacts all corporate functions.

The position of the Senior Accountant accountant will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
It shall report directly to the Finance Shared Services Centre Manager and indirectly to the Finance Manager of VGWS and the UAE CFO. This position shall be primarily responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of the Company.Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Take ownership over and closely monitor and verify the accounts on a daily basis and handle all accounting functions, duties
- Post purchase invoices, employee expense claims and liaise with ancillary departments to ensure that relevant approvals are obtained per the workflow
- Prepare the batch of supplier payments due on a bi-monthly basis, update banks and bank reconciliation statements
- Post sales invoices for both internal and external customers and control the settlements with customers by generating periodic aged analysis reports,
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions by ensuring the accounting treatment of an entity\'s transactions and events by supervising the quality and completeness of the accounting records as well as their adequacy with the services provided,
- Maintains reconciliation of rechargeable payroll costs, rechargeable costs with invoices re invoiced
- Reconciles and posts petty cash and bank reconciliations as at every month
- Prepare weekly/periodic cash forecast with accurate inputs
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status as per the business requirements, prepare monthly analysis of PL, BS by business unit for major KPIs (EBITDA, EBIT, Net Profit), including a variance analysis against the base period
- Audit financial transactions and documents, prepare bank transfers and keep the record of documents/ fixed and intangible assets,
- Prepare periodic reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, intercompany balances and vendor/customer balances
- Organize yearly Inventory count with the Maintenance Manager/Procurement officer and the relevant reconciliations.
- Assistance with the closing of the periodic accounts and associated analysis and summary documents; ensure the reliability of monthly accounts in accordance with IFRS and the annual accounts in accordance with local standards and the responsibility for the financial data obtained,
- Ensure the compliance with accounting and financial procedures and internal control rules defined by the Group and statutory compliances such as VAT/ESR filing
- Liaise with other transverse financial functions, operations and business units, related parties
- Handle with minimal supervision, the annual audit of the books of account
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the performance of accounting and financial processes with regard to the accounting and financial information systems implemented.
- Coordinating with the procurement department for creation of Vendor, resolving payable issues like amendment of LPO\'s, advance payments etc
- Verification and accounting of petty cash bills
- Assist in Quarterly/ Yearly inventory counts
- Entering details in IFRS-16 Lease toolTechnical Skills and Responsibilities:
- Good knowledge and practice of accounting and financial techniques (IFRS standards and local accounting and tax rules),
- Strong ability to solve complex accounting and tax issues and challenges and with other finance functions or operational departments,
- Good knowledge of accounting and financial processes for both internal control and procedural efficiency,
- Good knowledge of accounting and financial information systems,
- Ability to organize and plan the process of periodic account closings and meet accounting and tax deadlinesREQUIREMENTSPersonal Specifications:
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 4-5 years of work experience in accounting with thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
- Sector experience in construction, engineering or global multinational or similar, highly preferred
- Strong basics in GL accounting including knowledge of preparing accruals, amortizing prepaid expenses, understanding of the procurement process (PR-PO-Invoice)
- Proven financial analysis skills experience with month-end review and analysis of P&L and BS
- Experience with budgeting and cash forecasts, and creating financial statements
- Experience with handling external audits
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Excellent accounting software and Excel/Google sheet user and administration skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail with high focus on suppliers\' payments
- Prior experience in BC365/Navision would be an advantageOther Relevant Information:
