DESIGNATION: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT DEPARTMENT: FINANCE REPORTING TO: FINANCE MANAGER & UPPER MANAGEMENT OVERVIEW: The Senior Accountant will analyze everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans. The goal is to enable the companys leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the companys objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES: Monthly P&L & Consolidation:
Prepare and analyze monthly Profit and Loss statements.
Consolidate financial data from various departments or subsidiaries.
Quarterly VAT Filing:
Ensure timely and accurate submission of quarterly VAT returns.
Liaison with Banks: Maintain daily communication with financial institutions to manage banking transactions and relationships. Handling Audits: Coordinate both interim and year-end audits with external auditors. Daily Cash Flow Analysis: Monitor and analyze daily cash flows to optimize liquidity management. Process Automation: Work towards automating manual financial operations, reducing reliance on Excel spreadsheets. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including brand and customer P&L, provisions, GP analysis, marketing expenses analysis, and funding cost analysis. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for various financial processes, including VAT, AR, AP, and petty cash. Expense Control: Analyze company expenses and propose strategies to control and optimize costs. Budgets & Forecasting: Prepare budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning and decision-making. Bank Facilities Management: Identify and negotiate for financial facilities with banks that benefit the company's objectives. General Ledger Oversight: Scrutinize the General Ledger and maintain control accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity. QUALIFICATION: Degree or relevant qualification EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years experience in similar position. SKILLS:
A working knowledge of AP & AR routines
Intermediate or advanced level excel skills (Look Ups, Sum Ifs, Pivot Tables) are required.
FMCG Industry knowledge is desirable.
Strong organizational skills are required to drive efficiencies and achieve performance targets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide a first-class service to internal customers whilst remaining assertive on controls and procedures.
This role will require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing financial requirements.
