Budgeting and Forecasting:
Oversee the preparation and management of the company's annual budget.
Develop financial forecasts and projections, monitoring actual performance against forecasts.
Advise on budgetary controls and cost management strategies to improve financial performance.
Accounting Operations:
Supervise and manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and industry standards.
Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing all necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Ensure timely filing of taxes and other statutory filings.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor cash flow to ensure the organization has adequate liquidity for operational needs.
Prepare and manage cash flow projections, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Internal Controls and Risk Management:
Design and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Identify financial risks and suggest strategies to mitigate them.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, supervise, and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Provide guidance and training to junior accountants and staff, ensuring continuous professional development.
Process Improvement:
Continuously review and improve accounting systems, processes, and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Implement new accounting technologies or software as necessary to streamline operations.
Strategic Financial Planning:
Work closely with senior management to align financial strategy with overall business objectives.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
Ad-hoc Financial Tasks:
Handle ad-hoc financial tasks or special projects as assigned by senior management, such as due diligence for acquisitions or preparing financial models for business expansion.
Requirements:
Education
: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional Certification
: CPA, ACCA, or CMA certification preferred.
Experience
: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Technical Skills
: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
Knowledge
: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, financial reporting, and auditing standards.
Skills
: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
