About the role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant responsible for preparing and examining financial records, identifying potential areas of opportunity and risk, and providing solutions for businesses and individuals.
Responsibilities:
Project Accounting: • Reviewing contracts under IFRS and prepare the relevant accounting analysis and disclosures
• Updating contracts according to customer and business requirements and reporting associated budget amendments.
• maintaining and monitor project costing and prepare project-wise profitability reports
• Analyzing project expenses and providing commentary on progress and any variances
• overseeing project records and contracts to ensure terms are adhered to
• business partnering with non-finance managers to develop processes and the understanding of financial requirements
• Processing relevant accounting entries on completion of projects, and based on project progress

Financial Reporting • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in consolidating financial data from multiple entities or subsidiaries.
• Contribute to the analysis of financial statements, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
• Support the timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Financial Analysis: • Assist in conducting financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Contribute to the identification of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess financial performance.
• Provide support in generating insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support business objectives.
• System and Process Improvements:
• Provide assistance in evaluating and implementing financial reporting systems or software to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Reviewing budgets, including staffing, work plans, and fee structures.
• Monitoring receivable income and supporting project managers with collections.


Qualifications:

Qualification and Years of Experience• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, or similar.
• Accounting certification (CPA or ACCA) would be advantageous.
• 4-6 years' experience in accounting and reporting environment
• Experience in the Technology or Oil & Gas Industries are preferable



Essential Knowledge and Skills• Proficiency in electronic accounting systems, such as SAP
• Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Ability to prepare project budgets, financial forecasts, and tax reports.
• Business acumen, proficient leadership and communication skills
• Ability to proactively prioritize workloads, working both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence and efficiency.
• Excellent analytical and planning skills.
• In-depth knowledge of best practices in accounting.
