We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi.The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the company. This role includes preparing and maintaining financial records, conducting internal audits, managing cost controls, and ensuring compliance with various financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Key Responsibilities: * General Ledger Management:
  • Prepare and maintain the general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Develop project-based accounts and prepare budget vs. actual variance reports.
  • Reconciliation:
  • Perform periodical reconciliation of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R).
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage inter-company accounts.
  • Invoicing and Revenue Recognition:
  • Handle invoicing on supply projects.
  • Manage revenue recognition on contracts.
  • Conduct ageing analysis and follow up on receivables.
  • Arrange timely payments to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Contract Management:
  • Verify and clear all contracts/agreements.
  • Manage contracts ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Payroll and Cash Management:
  • Prepare and finalize payroll.
  • Manage petty cash and cash flow.
  • External Liaison:
  • Coordinate with external auditors and banks.
  • Manage bank facilities.
  • Tax Compliance:
  • Prepare and file VAT returns.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Coordination with Departments:
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of UAE experience in accounting, MIS reporting, internal audit, and cost control.
  • Experience in the contracting industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in various accounting software.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
