Job SummaryQualification & ExperienceMasters qualification in SEND provision or related teaching qualification with 2-5 Years experience.RoleOverall responsibility for the education and social development of the children through the British curriculum.Key accountabilities
  • Work with students, teachers and parents to support students with additional educational needs
  • Carryout IEP development, interventions, support lessons and meetings to support student's success
  • Monitor and report back on progress and impact of interventions implemented
  • Work with and line manage Learning Support Assistants (formerly known as Shadow teachers) to ensure SOD students successful transition into school
  • Work with teachers to support students both in and out of the classroom environment
  • Work with parents on strategies to support their children within the home to ensure academic and holistic growth through workshops and small group meetings
  • Work with the head of department and wider school community senior management team to develop experiences and activities for students' holistic development and success within the school
  • Maintain caseload summaries to establish trends within school and lesson records to support interventions
  • Maintain student progress and external referral report writing
The successful applicant will have:
  • Excellent knowledge of SEND initiatives
  • The ability to analyse data effectively to identify and track the progress of vulnerable
  • Knowledge of strategies which promote good behaviour and discipline
  • Ability to acquire further knowledge to contribute effectively and with confidence to classes in which involved
  • Understanding of relevant specialist area (e.g. subject area, Key Stage) sufficient to pupils' learning
  • Recent experience of managing students from a variety of cultures
  • Experience in developing and enhancing the practice of other staff including a range of pedagogical techniques, with a track record of innovation in teaching and learning
  • Time management and organisation skills
  • Possess superior interpersonal skills that reflect enthusiasm, patience, tolerance, sensitivity, empathy and enthusiasm for working with students, parents and school staff
  • IEP Development and Progress tracking skills
  • Have excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills required to work closely with relevant stakeholders
