:

As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Coordinator at Diyar Schools, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering high-quality SEN support. You will be responsible for overseeing the SEN program, developing inclusive learning environments, and ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the support required to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities : 1. SEN Program Development & Management :

• Lead the development and implementation of the school's SEN strategy and policies.
• Coordinate the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students with special educational needs.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all SEN students and ensure that Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are developed, reviewed, and updated regularly.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and ensure lessons are accessible to all students.

2. Inclusive Teaching & Learning :

• Support teachers in planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive lessons that meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
• Foster a classroom culture that values inclusivity, equity, and respect for all students, regardless of their learning abilities.
• Use assessment data to inform instruction and ensure students with SEN are making progress according to their IEPs.
• Provide classroom support where necessary, ensuring the inclusion of SEN students in mainstream classrooms.

3. Student Support & Progress :

• Implement effective intervention programs for students with SEN, ensuring the achievement of IEP goals.
• Monitor student progress and adjust learning plans based on ongoing assessment and feedback.
• Ensure all SEN students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
• Support SEN students during transitions (e.g., between year groups, moving to secondary education).

4. Collaboration & Communication :

• Work closely with classroom teachers, teaching assistants, and the wider school community to support students with special educational needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress, IEPs, and any concerns or successes.
• Liaise with external agencies, specialists, and therapists to ensure students receive the additional support needed.

5. Training & Development :

• Provide professional development and guidance to teachers and staff on effective strategies for supporting SEN students.
• Stay current with new research, techniques, and resources in the field of special education.
• Organize workshops, training sessions, and seminars for staff and parents on relevant SEN topics.

6. Compliance & Safeguarding :

• Ensure the school meets all requirements of local and international SEN policies, including compliance with the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) guidelines.
• Safeguard the welfare of students and ensure all staff members understand and follow the school's safeguarding policies.
• Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of the SEN program to ensure its effectiveness and adherence to school policies.

Performance Indicators :

• Student Progress : Demonstrable improvement in academic and social outcomes for SEN students, as measured through IEP goals and other assessments.
• Staff Support : Positive feedback from teachers and staff regarding the support and guidance provided by the SEN Coordinator.
• Parental Engagement : Strong relationships with parents, characterized by open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
• Policy Compliance : Full adherence to local regulations and school policies regarding SEN provision.

Qualifications :

• Qualified Teacher Status or certification in respective country.
• MOE Approval for SEN coordination roles.
• Degree : Degree in Special Education or related field, with a postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of 5 years working in special education, with proven leadership and program management experience.
• Skills :
• Strong understanding of SEN principles, inclusive education practices, and IEP development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to professional growth and development.
