Patrols lobbies, corridors, hotel, public areas and the outside perimeter including hotel parking areas.
Liaises with management, interviews guests, employees, and interrogates persons to detect infringements and investigates disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and accidents.
Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
Warns or ejects troublemakers, and cautions careless persons.
Obtains assistance for accident victims and completes the necessary accident or incident reports.
Communicates with Department Heads notifying them of the presence of persons who may affect the safety or security of the building
Assists management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
Enters and checks rooms of guests suspected of leaving without paying bill to and if required seizing any remaining personal property.
Complies and records data for Security Control.
Monitors and maintains electrical and computer control panels.
Assists guests and employees in hotel operations and service.
Coordinates and directs other security officers when performing dispatch procedures.
Ensures all Fire safety equipment is at the designated places and is serviceable at all times.
Ensures all Fire Exits and stairs are clear from obstruction at all times.
Directs incoming guests to the check-in at the reception area.
Directs guests and visitors to any of the hotel's facilities.
Prevents entrance of unauthorized or undesirable persons.
Maintains tight security in lobby by closely monitoring those who enter and exiting the hotel.
Directs traffic in the hotel's driveway.
Reports complaints or problems to Security Supervisor if no immediate solution can be found.
Ensures a high level of product knowledge of hotel and local areas.
Ensures a high level of customer service is consistently maintained.
Ensures the Security Supervisor/Director of Security is kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from either customers or other departments.
Reads all memos concerning Security
Opens and closes car doors for guests whenever the opportunity arises.
Prevents unauthorized parking in driveway.
Attends and contributes to all meetings as required.
Attends training sessions as scheduled to improve skills and knowledge.
Handles guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst feeding back a prompt follow up.
Qualifications
Previous Security / Safety experience required in a similar capacity in a luxury hotel environment is preferred
Current First Aid and CPR certification is required, current Advanced First Aid certification is preferred
Completion of Fire safety/fire fighter training is an asset
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are required
Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a team in a multi-culturally diverse environment
Proven ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Strong work ethic, highly responsible, reliable and the ability to work rotating shifts (both day and night), split shifts, extended hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays is required
