Under the supervision of the Head of the Department, performs interpreting/ transliterating services of oral or written communications between English and Arabic.
Provide interpreting / transliterating services for patients, employees and other individuals for meetings, interviews, telephone calls, etc. including one to one and group settings.
Responsibilities:
Translates orally or in writing all documents presented by patients, staff and other individuals.

Prepare written translations of instructional and educational materials, correspondence, and forms from Arabic to English when appropriate for use bt eh patients, staff, and other individuals.
Check original texts or confer with authors to ensure that translations retain the content, meaning, and feeling of the original material.
Check translations of technical terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation revisions.
Compile terminology and information to be used in translations, including technical terms such as those for legal or medical material.
Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials.
Refer to reference materials such as dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopedias, and computerized terminology banks as needed to ensure translation accuracy.
Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.
Identify and resolve conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors.
Answer inquiries from patients, community agencies, and individuals and interprets and explain words and phrases for meaning and appropriateness.
Handle appointment queries from the customer.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the HOD.
Qualifications:
At least a high school graduate or its equivalent.
Speaks fluent English & Arabic.
Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation both in English and Arabic.
Minimum 1-year experience as a translator in a patient focused environment.
Proficient technology application skills; Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, & Power point) MS Outlook & Internet explorer skills in English & Arabic.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication in the English and Arabic Language.
Must have an exceptional interpersonal skills, maturity, good judgment and be capable of communicating in a professional manner with diverse range of individuals.
