Job Description

• Key Responsibilities:

1. Healthcare Services:

- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, including first aid, emergency care, and management of chronic health conditions.

- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved protocols.

- Maintain accurate health records and documentation of all student interactions.

2. Health Education:

- Conduct health education sessions for students, staff, and parents on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, and disease prevention.

- Develop and distribute health education materials.

3. Health Screenings and Assessments:

- Conduct regular health screenings, including vision, hearing, and scoliosis checks.

- Assess and monitor the health status of students, identifying any potential health issues.

4. Infection Control and Safety:

- Implement and monitor infection control measures within the school environment.

- Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with school staff and healthcare providers to support students' health needs.

- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's health status and any necessary interventions.

6. Compliance and Reporting:

- Ensure compliance with DHA regulations and school policies.

- Prepare and submit health-related reports as required by the school administration and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

- DHA license as a Registered Nurse.

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.

- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.

- Current CPR and First Aid certification.

- Strong knowledge of public health principles, child development, and healthcare protocols.

Skills and Abilities:

- Excellent clinical and assessment skills.

- Strong organizational and time management abilities.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Proficiency in using electronic health records and other relevant software.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to perform the physical tasks required for providing nursing care, including lifting and assisting students as needed.

- Capable of responding quickly in emergency situations.
